Hi, welcome to my blog!

My name is Kerri Hurley. I’m a travel lover, passionate photographer and the person behind The Postcard Pilgrim – a space for exploring beautiful places, capturing memories and sharing the little moments that make life feel a bit more special.

I’m so happy to have you here as I explore new places, capture memories and little stories behind the photographs that I take. There will be:

• hidden gems
• honest thoughts
• travel moments
• photo diaries
• and the little happenings behind them

Travelling, like going on walks and exploring new places, has taught me to slow down and appreciate the world around me, and my camera has taught me to find the beauty in it. Walking along the Cornish coastline, I realised I wasn’t just taking photographs; I was capturing memories, feelings and little pieces of places I never wanted to forget.

About Me

Before we crack on with the adventures, let me tell you a bit about myself. Realness and all that. I’m human, but you know that kind of stuff…

Travel has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father had a place in France, and I spent a lot of my younger years there. We would travel often and it almost became a second home to me. It is still one of my favourite places, and I think that’s where a lot of my love for exploring first began.

Since then, I’ve also been lucky enough to visit places like Spain and Venice, each one adding to my love of travel and collecting memories.

My passion for photography properly started when I went out with my dad in his camper, visiting the Cornish coastline and its beaches: Portreath, Porthtowan and Perranporth.

I captured the charm of the coast, the sea, the views, and all the little details that made those locations feel special. I felt completely in my element, and looking back, I think that’s where my love for photographing places really began.

And in a little full circle moment, that same camper is now mine – but that is a story for another post.

The Blog’s Purpose

The purpose of my blog is to share the beauty of the places I explore and inspire guys and girls like you who also share my love for travel, photography, and discovering somewhere new.

I’ll be sharing travel stories, photo tips, destination ideas, walks, adventures, honest moments, useful advice, and plenty of inspiration along the way.

It isn’t just about travel and photography, while they are the main topics, I am human and I want to create a positive, welcoming space too. At the heart of my blog lies the hope of building a little community of fellow travel lovers, photography learners, creative people and anyone who enjoys seeing the world in a pleasant way. 

Through shared experiences, helpful tips and uplifting encouragement, I hope this can become a little corner of the internet where we can learn from each other, share ideas, support creative journeys and feel inspired to explore in our own way.

Whether you are an aspiring photographer, just like me, or a keen traveller seeking new places or simply someone who enjoys a good view and a good story, I hope this blog inspires you, encourages you and maybe helps you discover somewhere new.
